If you’ve never been to Glacier Bay National Park , it’s helpful to have a plan to ensure you see and do it all. We’ve put together our favorite 3-day itinerary that celebrates the beauty and endless awe-inspiring views of some of the most pristine geography on earth.

Getting Here - While there is no road access to Gustavus, you can find convenient air connections from Juneau, Skagway, or Haines via commuter air taxi services. Juneau is easily accessible from Seattle and Anchorage. For your convenience, here are the spring air taxi and summer air taxi schedules. Please contact us and we will be more than happy to book your flights for you.
Day of Arrival:
Making your way - Once you have arrived at the Gustavus Airport, Our Complimentary shuttle Service will take you to the Glacier Bay Lodge. Nestled under the spruce trees that line Bartlett Cove, Glacier Bay Lodge offers the only hotel accommodations within the park.
Fresh Air, Fantastic Scenery - There are several hiking trails in Bartlett Cove near Glacier Bay Lodge, all fairly easy to moderate walking. You can choose to do the Forest Loop Trail, a one-mile long loop trail begins at the Glacier Bay Lodge and ends near the dock. This easy trail winds through a pond-studded spruce/hemlock forest for one half mile (handicap accessible), then descends to the beach.
Dinner at Glacier Bay Lodge - The Glacier Bay Lodge offers you a choice of dining at the Fairweather Dining Room or outside on the deck and offers local seafood favorites like Dungeness Crab (a house specialty), halibut and salmon.
1st Full Day:
Breakfast at Fairweather Dining Room - Located in the Glacier Bay Lodge the Fairweather Dining Room breakfast menu offers all your breakfast favourites. Hours: 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM
Glacier Bay Day Tour - This tour is the only scheduled day tour permitted inside Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve. Take the Glacier Bay Day Tour, which is an 8-hour cruise on a comfortable catamaran and is the only scheduled day cruise in Glacier Bay National Park. You’ll see breathtaking scenery, wildlife and calving glaciers. Enjoy a ranger-led interpretive discussion and lunch on board. The boat docks again at Bartlett Cove at 3:30 PM
Your choice of fun: After you return from the Glacier Bay Day Tour you still have plenty of time for a hike or tour of the visitors center in the Lodge.
